It starts with the humble story of Talbot family, they are Christians very much determined to face the West, who brought with themselves is faith in God's love. The book truly amazes me.
The Journey West revolves around Abby Windsor Talbot, who is full of richness, privileged and a young man named Daniel, to whom later, took him to her wedded husband. Abby in the story faced great twists in her life, orphaned and bankrupt. So, she needs to move West away from her usual life. Plus, she's giving her best to cope with both physical and emotional strain of a wagon journey together with her Christian relatives. She almost loses her faith in God when as they traveling West with scarce food, drink and wagon as their only shelter, some horses that serve as their only transportation gave up their lives. The path they're taken we're almost desert. She one's hated everyone because no one's complaining about she disasters they encountered. Despite of exhausting days, her Christian relatives do pray every time and preach that everything is God's plan. Finally, she came to a realization that God truly will guide you through the rapids of change.
